In vorbirea curenta aceste cuvinte pot fi inlocuite usor cu \u201cso<\/b>\u201d sau in combinatie cu \u201cand<\/b>\u201d:<\/p>\n

\u2018Hence<\/b>\u2019 si \u2018thus<\/b>\u2019 (dar nu si \u2018therefore\u2019) pot fi urmate de un substantiv (si nu de o propozitie) caz in care vin de regula dupa virgula (mai ales ‘hence’ e folosit asa); intelesul este cam acealasi ‘as a result of this’.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe enjoys his job and his team is good, hence \/ thus his reluctance to think of coming back.\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u2018Thus<\/b>\u2019 poate fi inlocuit si cu<\/p>\n

– \u2018in this\/that way<\/b>\u2019 – raspunde la intrebarea \u2018HOW\u2019 – si arata maniera in care ceva se intampla;<\/p>\n

Eg. \u201d Traditionally, you decorate the tree thus = Traditionally, this is how you decorate the tree\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n

– \u2018thereby\u2019 <\/b>(<\/b>caz in care este urmat de verb + ing)<\/p>\n

Eg.\u201cHe has been given a large bonus, thus \/ thereby enabling him to buy a new car\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u2019Therefore<\/b>\u2019 – \u2018for this reason\u2019 sau \u2018because of this or that\u2019 -raspunde la intrebarea -WHY \u2013 de ce ceva se intampla<\/p>\n

\u201cHe enjoys his free time; therefore<\/u><\/i> , he is reluctant to think about working more hours.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2018Hence<\/b>\u2019 -\u2018from here\u2019 – raspunde la intrebarea WHERE \u2013 pozitia sau punctul de plecare in timp; de unde sau de ce se intampla ceva<\/p>\n

Eg \u201d She got a new job – hence her good moods\u201d.<\/p>\n

In engleza zilelor noastre apare insa mai ales cu intelesul \u201cfrom now\u201d in special in expresii cum ar fi \u201cTen years hence\u201d.<\/p>\n
